Health experts continued to be concerned about the early onset of puberty, particularly among girls; chemical pollution was mentioned as a likely culprit, as was the growing number of families without live-in father, who emit chemical signals that inhibit their daughters' sexual development. Crystal methamphetamine use among young adults was on the rise; users tend to be white, male, Western, and poor, and they tend to have incarcerated fathers. Young adults who drink malt liquor are more likely to develop drinking problems; they're also more likely to smoke pot. Binge drinkers prefer beer. Researchers concluded that 40 percent of deaths worldwide are caused by pollution. There were reports of mahjong-induced epilepsy in China, and a lamb was born in New Zealand with seven legs. A health expert warned that humans are not fit for human consumption.
