that dog. was a Los Angeles-based rock band that formed in 1991 and dissolved in 1997. Featuring Anna Waronker on lead vocals and guitar, Rachel Haden on bass guitar, her sister Petra Haden on violin, and Tony Maxwell on drums, their punk power-pop songs were full of hooks and many layered vocal harmonies.
Seemingly born into the Los Angeles music scene, Anna Waronker is the daughter of record industry mogul Lenny Waronker, the sister of sometime Beck and R.E.M. drummer Joey Waronker. Petra and Rachel Haden are the daughters of free jazz bassist Charlie Haden and brother of Josh Haden, a bass guitarist and singer, presently the head of the band named Spain. They are triplet daughters, Petra, Tanya and Rachel Haden, are all musicians. After that dog., Petra was a member of progressive folk group The Decemberists, Rachel was a founding member of rock band, The Rentals, and Tanya is married to actor Jack Black.
They can be seen at BLOOM TV in this glimpse. Later I will bring the song where I caught them, called One Summer Night, back in 1991.
That's it for now. See you soon.
